Announcing . . . .

Did you hear me shouting, “Hallelujah!” at your house in the wee hours of the morning? It is with deep gratitude that I announce that America the Beautiful has taken flight across cyberspace. It has headed for the printer. Notgrass History plans to announce it today.

Writers often express that they couldn’t have done such and such without the support of their families. I am certain that I could not have come to this point without Ray’s encouragement—and cooking and cleaning and proofreading and question answering—and a thousand cups of tea. Ray has laid down his life for me for months.

One of the last tasks I needed to finish last night was choosing what photograph to place at the beginning of the table of contents for part 2. Ray reminded me of the title and encouraged me to choose one that showed America’s beauty. The curriculum has thousands of photographs from national parks and Library of Congress, etc., but I wanted this photo to be my own. I chose the one below. Notgrass History sent us to California three years ago to do some speaking and make some videos. During that trip, we had the privilege of visiting the beautiful Channel Islands. I took this photo during our boat ride to the islands.

Outside of rearing and homeschooling our children, this America the Beautiful Second Edition is the largest project I have ever had the responsibility for in my life.  During this project, I have often felt a tremendous weight of responsibility as I tried to write accurately and faithfully during a difficult time in our history. I am humbly grateful to God for every way that He has led me. I am in awe of the stories He has led me to. I pray that those stories will shine light into darkness.

I am also grateful that God has sustained me through this multi-year project. I don’t know the specifics of what God has you doing right now, but I do know that He has the power and love to help you.

Behold, God is my helper;
The Lord is the sustainer of my soul.
Psalm 54:4

You who have been long term readers know that I rarely advertise a product in Daily Encouragement. However, if you are interested in learning more about America the Beautiful, you can learn more here.
