Cherish and Celebrate Those You Love

Yesterday our team member Josh shared an article with me about a North Carolina woman who has lived through two pandemics, the flu pandemic of 1918 and the current one. Her mind is still good at 115 — or is it 116? She thought she was 115, but now she isn’t sure since census information from many decades ago says she is 116. Let’s say 115 — give or take. She is the oldest person living in America.

Her July 30 birthday celebration this year was a drive-by with honks and waves.

I looked at a couple of articles about this remarkable woman. She has at least one remarkable daughter. The daughter gave wise and loving advice to families. She said that it is important to cherish your loved ones, especially when they get older. She advises that we celebrate our older loved ones. Why? She says, “Because life is short.”

Praise God for giving you this day to cherish and celebrate those you love. What a wonderful environment for every person to live in every day—knowing they are cherished and loved.

Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another,
because love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8
