Come Behind the Scenes with Me

Earlier this week I leaned my phone against a bookstand and taped it in place. Ray pushed the red video start button and away I went, telling a bit of the behind-the-scenes story of what I’ve been writing for the last many, many months. I sent the files and a bunch of family pictures to Titus who produces our videos.

When Ray and I watched the first draft, my heart swelled with good feelings about America. When Ray watched the final version, he was all misty. If you are like me, you need a good, big dose of those feelings right now. You can watch the video at the end of today’s post.

On D-Day, Allied forces landed at Normandy in a push to defeat the Nazis. On that June 6, 1944, President Franklin Roosevelt led Americans in prayer. He began:

Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity.

Later in that prayer, he prayed:

Many people have urged that I call the Nation into a single day of special prayer. But because the road is long and the desire is great, I ask that our people devote themselves in a continuance of prayer. As we rise to each new day, and again when each day is spent, let words of prayer be on our lips, invoking Thy help to our efforts.

Let’s keep praying for America and for all people in the world. We need Jesus now, just as every generation has needed Him.

I urge, then, first of all,
that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving
be made for all people—
for kings and all those in authority,
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives
in all godliness and holiness.
1 Timothy 2:1-2

  1. We SO loved this curriculum. Kind of sad we have out grown it. Would love to read the updated version. We normally sell or give away our used curriculum. Not this one though. It’s so much fun to re read and find places to visit.
    I’m wondering if you might consider sometime writing a post on “Traveling On A Shoestring Budget”? My husband is the kind to stay in a 4 star hotel wherever we go but our last vacation we talked him into a $66 dollar room in Winslow and an also lesser expensive room at the Wigwam hotel and both were such fun places. I’d love to know your ideas.
