Noticed

Sometimes mamas at home feel as if their entire days are filled with thankless tasks, tasks that no one notices and ones that no one would think was important even if they did notice.

Actually, Someone is noticing.

. . . your Father who sees what is done in secret
will reward you.
Matthew 6:18

Therefore, my beloved brethren,
Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

I love the 1943 picture of San Augustine, Texas. Mrs. Rushing, the wife of the mayor, washes dishes, 1943. You see we still do our dishes that way. We live in a very dry area and we don’t waste anything especially water. We wash our dishes in dish pans and then use the water to water what few trees we do have and of course our cactus plants that grow around here like weeds. Besides we really don’t care for the way a dishwasher cleans dishes and the cost of the machine Heaven forbid.
Another thing that we do the old way is wash and dry clothing. Now it is mostly drying clothing the old way. We do have a dryer and because of the wind we would not be able to put socks on the clothes line because they would be blown away but everything else is hung out on the clothes line and I love the way clothes smell and feel hung on a clothes line.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane
