In between conferences out west, we had time to spend a day at the Grand Canyon. We arrived early and stayed until the sun went down. Just before sunset, we arrived at the Desert View Watchtower, one of the structures that architect Mary Colter designed for the Grand Canyon in the 1930s. On the building, I noticed this plaque. What a wonderful summary of the day.

Worldly “scientific” messages shouted at us at the park. We saw only two plaques like this one. However, God spoke vividly all day long with scenes like these which declared His glory again and again.

In our hurries and worries and busyness, let’s be sure that we speak words of faith to the people around us, especially to our children. Let’s tell them of the wonders of God, the amazing way He created the world, and His wonderful plan to save us through Jesus. Let’s nourish their faith by giving them opportunities to see what God has made; and when we do, let’s give God the glory with our words.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes,
His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen,
being understood through what has been made . . .
Romans 1:20, NASB
