Generational Integrity

Last Wednesday night, after Ray led us in a study of Proverbs 20, he asked for comments. One of our elders, John Richard Fox, who is in his 80s, began to speak in his wonderful, purposeful, Southern style.

He looked back to verse 7:

A righteous man who walks in his integrity—
How blessed are his sons after him.
Proverbs 20:7

John Richard expressed his gratitude for the blessing of having a father who walked in his integrity. His father passed away many years ago, but his good reputation has followed after him and last week his son was feeling thankful.

John Richard also expressed his own need to be a good example to his children. He is.

Homeschooling gives you innumerable opportunities to live with integrity before your children. In doing so, you are blessing generations to come.

So we Your people and the sheep of Your pasture
Will give thanks to You forever;
To all generations we will tell of Your praise.
Psalm 79:13
