Grace and Peace

Ray finished his sermon series on the book of 1 Peter this past Sunday. He pointed out how the apostle Peter ended his salutation to his readers:

May grace and peace be yours
in the fullest measure.
1 Peter 1:2

Grace and peace in the fullest measure! That is exactly what we mamas want and need in our homes every day. It is also specifically what every homeschooling mama needs as she homeschools her kiddos.

The apostle Paul wanted the same thing for his “true child in a common faith.”

To Titus, my true child in a common faith:
Grace and peace from God the Father
and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Titus 1:4

There’s another strong desire we mamas have — that our children share with us “a common faith.”

In Peter’s second letter, He gives us another key to grace and peace — the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you
in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord . . .
2 Peter 1:2

Grace. Peace. The Knowledge of God and Jesus. A common faith. These will transform our homeschools, our lives, and our families.

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God,
to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice,
acceptable to God,
which is your spiritual service of worship.
And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
so that you may prove what the will of God is,
that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:1-2

And again:

May grace and peace be yours
in the fullest measure.
1 Peter 1:2
