Happy Homeschooling Mamas Labor Day!

Share Now

On this Labor Day, I can’t think of any harder working laborers than mamas. Like the mama in Proverbs 31:

You do good.

You look for wool and flax (and polyester and cotton and whatever else makes up your family’s clothes).

You work with your hands in delight.

You bring your food from afar.

You rise while it is still night.

You give food to your household.

Your lamp does not go out at night.

You help the poor and needy.

Strength and dignity are your clothing.

You smile at the future.

You look well to the ways of your household.

Your worth is far above jewels.

You deserve a day of recognition of your own! So Happy Homeschooling Mamas Labor Day! Yes, I just made this holiday up, but I wanted you to know that you are an inspiration to me.

And let her works praise her in the gates.
Proverbs 31:31

  1. Thank you for the “holiday”. We are enjoying the day off from school and work, but tomorrow is another day, so I look forward to whatever you have to encourage us with. And since we are making up holidays, tomorrow is “Daily Encouragement for Homeschooling Mothers–to the Writer Day!” Blessings on your day too. Trust it is a good one!

    • Thank you, Rhoda. How very kind and sweet. I appreciate it and plan to enjoy “my day” at play practice! It’s that time of year again for the Homeschool Dramatic Society production of “He is Near,” A True Story of Amy Carmichael and the God She Shared in India.
