Homeschool for Eternity

I have been wanting to show you a picture of the sky that was outside my window the other afternoon, but I kept telling myself that I have shown you pictures of the sky in that spot again and again.

However, last night when I settled down to write to you, I realized that it is God Who keeps painting those beautiful afternoon sunsets. He obviously never tires of painting them. If it thrills me to see those ever-changing, ever-beautiful sunsets, then maybe you won’t tire of seeing a picture of one every now and again.

I know from Romans that God has placed lessons He wants us to learn in the things He has made:

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes,
His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen,
being understood through what has been made,
so that they [men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness] are without excuse.
Romans 1:20

When I try to think of words to say about this scene, I am speechless. Maybe I had better be quiet and listen to the lesson about God’s invisible attributes, eternal power, and divine nature that He has placed in it and simply accompany it with a portion of His Word.

Sing praises to our God on the lyre,
Who covers the heavens with clouds,

another pink sky 018
Who provides rain for the earth,
Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.
He gives to the beast its food,
And to the young ravens which cry.
He does not delight in the strength of the horse;
He does not take pleasure in the legs of a man.
The Lord favors those who fear Him,
Those who wait for His lovingkindness.
Psalm 147:7-11

  1. Thank you Charlene for another wonderful post. I never get tired of seeing pictures of God’s creation! And I know pictures don’t even come close to the actual beauty and splendor of seeing it in “real life.” I, too, am often speechless and overwhelmed by God’s beauty around us.
I always look forward to your insight and how you tie it all together with scripture. I appreciate your encouragement!

  2. I don’t mind if you keep posting these pictures. I could never tire of God’s beautiful paintings and His amazing creation.

  3. My daughter took a digital photography class last semesters at our local community college for dual enrollment credit. Her professor told the class that strictly no sunsets or flowers or smiling photos would be allowed. I guess she didn’t get it. I will never tire of gazing at the beautiful sunsets God paints for us. I always feel a twinge of sadness when I can’t grab my camera to take a picture.
Thank you for your daily encouragement. I love reading your posts and my spirit is uplifted!
