Kinda Scared
Always on the lookout for an interesting shot, I snapped this not-so-great photo of a loaded car carrier. The picture reminds me of a time when our two-year-old granddaughter Clara saw a similar sight. She told those of us riding in the car with her that it made her kinda scared.Â
Clara had probably never seen a car transporter. From her young perspective, it was scary. Our perspective improves with age. Though I still feel a bit skittish when I come up behind two levels of cars speeding down the Interstate on an open truck, my experience teaches me that a mishap is unlikely.
Still, even with our improved adult perspective, we are sometimes fooled. For example, look at this photo of Kansas City’s Liberty Memorial, honoring those who fought in World War I.
How big is it? How close is it to downtown Kansas City? Does the perspective below help any?
How about the photo below, taken behind the memorial facing downtown?
How about this shot taken from the same porch, but with a zoom? How would each of these photos look different if they had been taken on a sunny day?
The next time you are feeling kinda scared, remember that God is in Heaven watching over you and that His perspective is never fooled. It is perfect.
The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
And His ears are open to their cry.
