On Sunday mornings, Ray is preaching through the gospel of Luke. This past Sunday he taught about Jesus’ birth and childhood from Luke 2. He encouraged us to think about Mary and Joseph rearing the Son of God. Imagine watching Jesus take His first toddling steps, wiping bread crumbs from His tiny cheek, hugging Him close when He skinned His knee, gasping when He almost stumbles down the steps going up to your rooftop.

Imagine your joy the first time Jesus read from the scroll of the Torah in the synagogue.

Though we don’t have the privilege of rearing the Son of God, we do have the delight of rearing precious ones made in God’s image, the delight of being the first to tell them about Jesus, and the delight of continuing to tell them again and again and again.

Give me your heart, my son,
And let your eyes delight in my ways.
Proverbs 23:26
