Looking Back and Looking Ahead
Today I thought it might be fun to look back one hundred years. I found these photos of children at the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House in 1921:
A baby girl.
A quartet of girls rolling eggs down a hill.
And a group all finished and posing for a picture.
What generation in your own family were children in 1921? What were their hopes and dreams? When they grew up, what were their hopes and dreams for their children and grandchildren? Did they ever pray for you? And now, let’s think ahead to a century from now (if the Lord doesn’t come back for us first). What are our hopes and dreams for the children of the future generations in our families? How we live today can bless them. Praying for them today will certainly bless them. What a great purpose we have in how we live this day.
One generation will praise Your works to another,
And will declare Your mighty acts.
