Love Without Limit

Yesterday I wrote about Ray finding a show for Mother to watch during Thanksgiving weekend. That search was one of many searches he does to find entertainment for my mama. Ray is amazing. If there were a definition for amazing son-in-law in an illustrated dictionary, Ray’s picture would be the illustration.

Amazing Ray
Amazing son-in-law (with a monster barbecue sandwich in Colorado).

One of the many ways that Ray loves me is by loving my mother. Another way he shows his love for me is by serving her tirelessly. However, he isn’t only showing love to me. He is showing love to her, too. Ray has a deep love and compassion for Mother. I am blessed.

One of the most important ways to love your husband is to love his mama and his daddy.

One of the best ways to get better at that is to feel secure in your own relationship with God and with your own relationship with your husband. Sometimes it is easy to believe that people have a limited capacity for love. Sometimes we fear that if someone loves someone else, he won’t have room in his heart to love me, too.

Love just isn’t like that.

God is love. He has a limitless capability to love. When He made us in His image, He gave us that limitless capability, too.

Beloved, let us love one another,
for love is from God;
and everyone who loves is born of God
and knows God.
1 John 4:7

  1. I remember learning about the multiplicative property of love when I had my second baby so many years ago. I was so afraid that my love affair with my first born would have to end and thought my love could only be divided a certain number of times. But I learned, to my amazement, that love multiplies and can just grow and grow and grow.
