More Faith Along the Way
Back in October, Ray and I visited the North Carolina state capitol. In November I showed you some photos of its library. Here are more photos of the North Carolina state capitol.
Six weeks ago you went with me to the state capitol of Missouri.
I told you then about the biblical ideas we saw chiseled in its walls.
I guess I had too many other things to talk about when John, Audra, Henry, Ray, and I visited the Minnesota state capitol about a month ago because I don’t think I even mentioned it. Let me show you a picture or two now.
We often see school children when we visit capitols. A group of Native Americans was visiting the Minnesota capitol on the day we were there.
Last week John’s family and Ray and I went to the state capitol of Pennsylvania. Ray and I visit it almost every time we go to the convention in Harrisburg.
As I said yesterday, even though popular culture may seem otherwise, we see faith often as we travel from convention to convention. Today I’d like to tell you about the faith we see in the Pennsylvania state capitol. Most of these photos were taken this year, but I have included some from other years, too, because they help me tell the story.
Circling the rotunda is this quote by William Penn: “There may be room there for such a Holy Experiment, for the nations want a precedent, and my God will make it the seed of a nation. That an example may be set up to the nations. That we may do the thing that is truly wise and just.”
Upstairs are opulent gold decorations, beautiful paintings, . . .
a cross, . . .
. . . and more words of faith.
Satan wants us to believe that faith in America is dead. Don’t believe his lies–neither this one nor any others.
All nations whom You have made
shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And they shall glorify Your name.
Psalm 86:9
