Morning Glory

I am grateful that God gives us mornings. Each one is the beginning of a new day. Each morning is a gift and each day is a gift. Some of the most precious gifts are mornings and days we get to spend with our children.

As you start your day, keep these truths close to your heart:

  • What you are doing with your children today is powerful because the lessons they are learning are coming from their very own loving mama.
  • Their lessons don’t have to be perfect by any educational standard. They are powerful because they are coming from you.

Wild morning glories are blooming on the fencerows near our house. For several days, I have been gathering pictures of mornings and thinking about a post called Morning Glory. As you begin this wonderful day with your precious children, may this be your prayer:

Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning;
For I trust in You;
Teach me the way in which I should walk;
For to You I lift up my soul.
Psalm 143:8

And now to nourish your heart with God’s Word and His Creation, let’s take a walk through some recent mornings:

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!
Awake, my glory!
Awake, harp and lyre!

I will awaken the dawn.
I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to You among the nations.
For Your lovingkindness is great to the heavens
And Your truth to the clouds.

Be exalted above the heavens, O God;
Let Your glory be above all the earth.
Psalm 57:7-11
