“Oh, no! What should I do?”

Often we wonder, “Oh, no! What should I do?” The issue may be a child who isn’t reading yet or a bill that was completely unexpected or a project that you simply can’t seem to finish. Sometimes our issues really are huge, sometimes they only seem so at the time, and other times they are really trivial. Still, if we aren’t careful, we can get in an awful tizzy.

One time a man I deeply respect heard Ray pray about something rather ordinary and mundane. After hearing Ray’s prayer, he said that he didn’t think we should pray about things like that. I respectfully disagree. God wants to hear our every request. I’m sure He hasn’t been surprised by a request yet. I’m also sure that He hasn’t had a request for which He had no answer.

We can trust Him. The question is not whether we can trust Him but whether we will.

Making friends with a mule is one thing, but God doesn’t want us to be one.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will advise you with My eye upon you.
Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding,
Whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check,
Otherwise they will not come near to you.
The sorrows of the wicked are many,
But the one who trusts in the Lord, goodness will surround him.
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones;
And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.
Psalm 32:8-11
