One More Time

On the day that I published “Sweet Ann, One of My Heroines,” a reader who knew Ann posted a comment thanking me for writing about “a woman as beautiful as Ann.”

“I miss her so much,” the reader wrote. “I just wish I could talk to her one more time.”

The reader’s words keep coming to mind. I could say the same words about so many people. I have joyfully imagined talking to my Daddy one more time or holding our grandson Avery one more time—how sweet that would be. I sometimes think of news I would like to tell my mother. I look forward to seeing them all in heaven. Still, I’d love to wrap my arms around them here, too.

I encourage you to cherish the treasure of each moment with all those you love—with God, with your husband, your children, your parents, your siblings, your brothers and sisters in Christ. You are busy with many daily responsibilities. Still, wouldn’t it be wonderful to view each moment as a cherished moment?

So teach us to number our days,
That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12
