I had charge of our little granddaughter between Sunday School and church last Sunday. She asked if she could go get an additional Bible from another pew, so that when it was time to read the Bible, she would “have options.”

Then she asked if she could get a songbook from another pew. When I showed her the one she already had, she looked at me with a sweet expression and reminded me that she wanted “options.” I’m her Little (my grandma name) — of course, I said yes both times. Wanting to have two Bibles and two songbooks handy — I was fine with that.

God gives us many options every day, but when He sent the Baby into the world, He sent Him as our precious, powerful, remarkable, holy — and only — option for coming to our Father.

I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the Father but through Me.
John 14:6
