Silence. Trust. A Heart Poured Out.

Thank you for your outpouring of kindness, encouragement, and support yesterday. You warmed my heart throughout the day. It meant a great deal to me. I always love to hear from you.

And now, for today’s thoughts . . .

Last week I talked with a friend who plans to homeschool for the first time this fall. Little Ben (not his real name) got behind when the local schools closed for quarantine last spring. She has been thinking about homeschooling for some time. Now the time has come.

On the phone she voiced her fears. I was able to tell her that she has the same fears that other homeschoolers have. She wants to be sure that she does everything she needs to do.

I know that is what you want, too. What a precious heart that desire reveals!

Psalm 62 has advice that can help you.

  • Wait in silence for God only.
  • Trust in Him at all times.
  • Pour out your heart before Him.

God wants you to succeed. He loves your children even more than you do and He picked you to take care of them. He would not have given your children to you if He didn’t trust you.

My soul, wait in silence for God only,
For my hope is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
On God my salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
 Trust in Him at all times, O people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalm 62:5-8

  1. Thank you so much for reminding me that God is indeed in control and that He chose me to parent these kiddos! We’ve been homeschooling now for a few years but every now and then that voice creeps in and says…”Are you doing enough? Are they really getting what they need from you?”

    Thank you for your encouragement! See you again tomorrow!

    FYI….we LOVE all things Notgrass! We will have used every curriculum by the time we are completed with all my kiddos!
