Thanks and Giving
The week of Thanksgiving is a good time to put into practice this piece of advice I read recently:
Let our lives be full of both thanks and giving.
I love that. Being a thankful person and being a giving person—what a beautiful way to live life. What wonderful character traits to teach our children:
Give thanks.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Psalm 107:1
Be thankful.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
to which indeed you were called in one body;
and be thankful.
Colossians 3:15
Have an attitude of thanksgiving.
Devote yourselves to prayer,
keeping alert in it
with an attitude of thanksgiving . . .
Colossians 4:2

Share.
And do not neglect doing good and sharing,
for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Hebrews 13:16
Give generously.
He who is generous will be blessed,
For he gives some of his food to the poor.
Proverbs 22:9
Give freely—and in response to God’s generosity to us.
Freely you received, freely give.
Matthew 10:8b

Thanks Charlene for your daily blog post. I’ve enjoyed them the last few months. My kids have been using Notgrass History for several years now and appreciate the thorough work there too. I was touched by your loss of Bethany and pray for grace for you all this holiday season.
