The Joy Sharers

The last time Ray and I were at a park with grandchildren, our four-year-old granddaughter climbed up on a piece of exercise equipment. She looked out at her aunt, uncle, cousin, parent, and grandparent admirers with a look of gleeful accomplishment. Her face beamed, “Look what I did, Everyone!”

It feels good to know we accomplished something new and it feels good to know that those we love approve. The opportunity to share and approve our children’s big and little accomplishments is one reason to keep on homeschooling. We can’t notice and approve what we don’t see.

Even when our children are right in front of us, we have to make sure we are paying attention.

From the perspective of a lifetime of accomplishments, our little granddaughter was taking a baby step. But on that day, it was a giant step for her.

Again and again, God inspired Paul to notice what the churches were doing right. Wise mamas do that, too. Wise mamas are joy sharers.

For this reason I too,
having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus
which exists among you
and your love for all the saints,
do not cease giving thanks for you,
while making mention of you in my prayers;
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation
in the knowledge of Him.
Ephesians 1:15
