The Marriage Team
Last week a member of the Notgrass History team suggested that I start making a short video each Friday, telling what I had written about in Daily Encouragement the previous week. Later that day, one of our grandchildren saw some of the pictures on my phone and wondered why there were so many pictures of me. That’s because I’m notorious for goofing up when I make a video.
My sweet husband acted as videographer, which means that I was standing on the porch with the green hills behind me, and . . .

. . . he was standing two or three feet away with my cell phone in his hand and my one-word reminders of what I wanted to say pinned to his shirt as my makeshift teleprompter.

Ray is a good sport. If I needed him to record a video, then he was going to record a video. That’s what married people do for one another. While we do that, our children are watching and learning. They are learning how to be part of a team, how to put others’ needs before their own wishes and needs, and how to give total commitment for life.
One of the very best things you, as a homeschooling mama, can do for your children is to grow your marriage.
Then the Lord God said,
“It is not good for the man to be alone;
I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
Genesis 2:18

Thank you for sharing about your experiences and marriage. You made me smile today. Monday is our 30th wedding anniversary and we have eight children. The words you shared today reminded me that the lesson taught by us is friendship, teamwork and love not perfection. What a wonderful encouragement this weekend!
