When she holds her newborn baby and rocks back in forth in the rocking chair singing “Jesus Loves Me” for the first time, a mama experiences the priceless gift of being the first person ever to tell her little baby about Jesus.

God gives mamas the gift of being present when their children first learn to trust God. “You made me trust when upon my mother’s breasts . . . . You have been my God from my mother’s womb,” said David in Psalm 22:9-10.

Paul told Timothy: “For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well” (2 Timothy 1:5).

A priceless day-in and day-out gift for a mama is the privilege of making disciples of her children.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,
“All authority has been given to Me
in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father
and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
