The Word Was Weary
When I sat down last night to write a message for you for this morning, one word came to mind. The word was weary. I was feeling weary. I know you feel that way sometimes. I’m guessing that you feel that way pretty often.
To my surprise, my weariness began to go away as I typed. In preparation for writing, I had just looked for the word weary in the Bible. I found three passages for all of you and for me.
As we go into this weekend, let’s take these passages with us.
Let us not lose heart in doing good,
for in due time we will reap
if we do not grow weary.
Galatians 6:9
But as for you, brethren,
do not grow weary of doing good.
2 Thessalonians 3:13
This last one from the lips of Jesus encouraged me most of all.
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden,
and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
