What Marvels You Have to Share

Ray and I have been enjoying our early morning breakfasts outside.

Yesterday a hummingbird got his breakfast from the climbing honeysuckle vine in the flower garden. A bee gathered nectar from a bloom on the Mexican petunia.

An insect, perhaps a firefly, landed on a blade of grass. He held on until it stopped bouncing from his landing and then crawled uphill along its curled leaf. Tiny dew drops hung tightly from the webs spiders had woven before we came.

God had opened blossom after blossom in the garden.

The sun shown on our garden, outlining every shape, while the fog over the river hung so thickly that a stranger would not have known that the not-very-distant hills even existed. Ray and I walked barefoot through the wet grass to the front yard and saw the freshly mown hayfield in the morning light.

I marvel at the wisdom of our God. How kindly He cares for us all. What marvels you have to share with your children every day.

Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
Sing praises to our God on the lyre,
Who covers the heavens with clouds,
Who provides rain for the earth,
Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.
He gives to the beast its food,
And to the young ravens which cry.
He does not delight in the strength of the horse;
He does not take pleasure in the legs of a man.
The Lord favors those who fear Him,
Those who wait for His lovingkindness.
Psalm 147:7-11

  1. Your flower pictures are lovely and bright!
    Thank you for sharing this beauty this morning. If our eyes are open God has so much beauty for us to see and enjoy.🌸🌺

  2. Only a couple of my kids have caught my love of history but I love that my girls all enjoy being outdoors in God’s creation and then sketching what they see. Presently, our 9 year old daughter has become enthusiastic about catching baby lizards (joys of FL), observing them than setting them free. The education she gets daily in our backyard forest with the lizards and birds, frogs and squirrels is so God-given! We are grateful for where we live, what we experience daily and how He shows us it is His world.
