I always enjoy visiting with the nice lady who works at our local garden center. She is so friendly. Her name is Virginia.

Like so many people we see around town, Virginia has been watching our new headquarters going up and wondering how things are going. I was touched by her kind questions and keen interest.

We chatted about what is inside the building and about what our company does. Virginia told me that she taught history for many years. She also told me about a little church she was part of many years ago. The church didn’t have classes for children under five years old. This bothered her greatly, so she began a class for the smallest children. Since the church didn’t have curriculum for her to use with that age group, she created her own. She carefully laminated many of the teaching tools.

Virginia later moved away from that area. Thirty years later, Virginia’s daughter visited the little church. Having heard her mother tell about the materials she had created, the daughter mentioned her mother and those materials to people she met there. They took her to a classroom and showed her the materials her mother had so conscientiously created three decades ago.

They were still using them!

Thank you for the work you do everyday for your family, especially the work that will last in your children’s hearts.

Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be steadfast, immovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58
