Patience, Homeschool Mama

When a child meets a learning obstacle, it is easy to get stuck in fear. Just because something is true for a child right now does not mean that it will always be true. Just because a child is not at a certain point at a certain time does not mean that he or she will never get there. Strict timetables are for buses, trains, and planes, not for children.

One of our children had a different learning pace than the other two. Milestones in reading and spelling, in particular, were later than we expected. But they did come in time.

I’m thankful that we were able to provide a comfortable cocoon where our little caterpillar could rest and grow and mature in the gentle environment of homeschooling; because once that cocoon time was complete, the emergent butterfly has never stopped soaring.

Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:14
