Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day. Today I want you to see the precious pin that I wear each Valentine’s Day, but first I want you to know where I got it.

From 1972 to 1997, Nashville, Tennessee, was home to the theme park, Opryland USA. My parents lived in nearby Ashland City and enjoyed season tickets every year. When our children were very young and we were living in Oxford, Mississippi, many happy visits to my parents included a day at Opryland.

My Daddy was one of those people who can’t stay in one place very long. At 6′ 2″ he easily found people in a crowd. Whether we were shopping in downtown Nashville when I was a little girl or enjoying Opryland when I was a young mother, it wasn’t unusual for Daddy to wander off for a while and then show back up. One day when he showed back up, he had a present for his one and only daughter. It’s the pin I wear every year to honor Ray, Daddy, and Valentine’s Day.

See!

They do and I do.

Thanks, Daddy, for the reminder and encouragement!

. . . and let us consider how to stimulate one another
to love and good deeds . . .
Hebrews 10:24

Here’s a video Ray and I made about our marriage a few years ago. I hope it encourages you while you celebrate your own marriage today.
