One of My Happiest “Little” Moments Yet

Though my happy moment didn’t exactly look like this, it was idyllic for me nonetheless.

This is what happened:

One of our grandchildren affectionately laid a sweet head in my lap and said three little words.

Three little words. Only three syllables. Just eight letters.

“I like you.”

Those three little words gave me one of my happiest “Little” moments yet (Little is what our grandchildren call me).

The knowledge that someone else thinks you are likable is rich nourishment for the human heart. To know you are loved without knowing you are liked is to live your days with a feeling of being not quite full or perhaps feeling very hungry indeed.

No child should wonder if he is liked. Mamas should communicate that message to each child regularly and often. God made sure that His Son knew.

And a voice came out of the heavens:
“You are My beloved Son,
in You I am well-pleased.”
Mark 1:11
