Counting . . .

I hope you are enjoying our Saturday art by Miss A. M. Upjohn of the Paris office of the American Red Cross. The date on this drawing is March 28, 1919. The title is “Remember to drink plenty of milk.” I guess this sister is reminding her brother of how many glasses he needs. From the look on his face, I don’t think he minds. It’s almost noon and his napkin is tied and ready.

Her counting fingers remind me of something else I want to count today: the blessings of our children, our grandchildren, and most of all, the blessings God showers on all of us every day.

How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust,
And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who become involved in falsehood.
Many, Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done,
And Your thoughts toward us;
There is no one to compare with You.
If I would declare and speak of them,
They would be too numerous to count.
Psalm 40:4-5
