As Ray’s daddy used to say . . .
Ray and I were blessed with daddies who peppered their speech with colorful sayings. Ray’s daddy liked to quote the popular French saying: Petit à petit l’oiseau fait son nid. Ray quoted it the other day, and I thought of you.
Petit à petit l’oiseau fait son nid means “Little by little the bird builds its nest.”
That’s what you are doing every day. Little by little you are building your nest. Little by little you are training your children. Little by little you are growing as a mama.
You don’t have to do everything today but do keep on keeping on little by little.
. . . but one thing I do:
forgetting what lies behind
and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize
of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13b-14
