By Him All Things Were Created

Jesus had been with His Father in Heaven from the beginning. He and His Father were one even when creating all that exists in the Universe. As we learn in Colossians:

For by Him all things were created,
both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or
dominions or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through Him and for Him.
He is before all things,
and in Him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:16

As we learn in Jesus’ prayer in John 17, He was in a glorious position in heaven.

Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself,
with the glory which I had with You
before the world was.
John 17:5

Jesus had always done exactly what His Father wanted Him to do. When His Father told Him that it was time to go to Earth to save us all, Jesus obeyed. Jesus came into the created world.

When Jesus got up in the mornings, He saw light. He told His followers that we are the light of the world. He told us to let our light shine.

Jesus breathed in air, and the wind obeyed Him.

On day three God separated the land and the water and created plants. Jesus walked on the land and on the water, too, and He ate food that the plants produced. He told a parable about seeds and how they grow in different kinds of soil.

On the fourth day of creation, God created the sun, moon, and stars. Jesus saw the sun rise and set each day. On at least one early morning while it was still dark, He got up and went to a secluded place to pray to our Father. During at least one evening, He healed all of the ill people who came to Him. During another evening, He fed 5,000 people, and then He went away to pray.

On the fifth day, God created the fish and birds. Jesus told us that God takes care of the birds and He take care of us, too. One day Jesus helped Peter and his brother Andrew catch 153 fish.

God created people on the sixth day. At just the right time, Jesus came to earth and became one of us. Then He died to save us.

The more you think about what happened when God became flesh and lived among us, the more amazing it becomes. You have such amazing things to teach your children.

And the Word became flesh,
and dwelt among us,
and we saw His glory, glory as of
the only begotten from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
