Celebrating Canada Day
July 1 is always a special day in our family. It’s Bethany’s birthday. Ray and I are celebrating Bethany’s birthday today with her and her sweet family. Happy Birthday, Bethany.
I’m remembering one of her birthdays many years ago when we also celebrated with our friend Benjamin, who shares Bethany’s birthday. We had a Canada Day party, complete with a Canadian flag cake.

As I think about Bethany’s birthday and Canada Day this year, I am also thinking about a blog reader who grew up in Canada. To my great joy, she drove to Richmond from her home in Virginia so that we could visit in person when Bethany and her family and Ray and I were at the HEAV convention a few weeks ago.
I mention my new friend because I want to ask you to pray for her and her husband. He, a non-smoker, was diagnosed with lung cancer this past December. Their faith is the astounding kind. I know they would appreciate your prayers for them and for their children. Thank you.
