From Inside the Snow Globe

On Monday we had a beautiful first snow. First, we saw some tiny flurries . . .

. . . and then we started seeing the big “painted corn flakes” kind of snowflakes falling.

It was almost as if we were in a snow globe.

That reminds me of our earliest days of homeschooling when I wasn’t living in a snow globe, but in a fishbowl. Ray was serving as a minister and I was much too concerned about what the church members looking inside our fishbowl thought about what I was doing.

Does anyone make you feel as if you homeschool in a snowglobe or a fishbowl? Looking back, I know that homeschooling would have been a whole lot easier for me if I had remembered this passage from Colossians. I hope it helps you today.

Whatever you do, do your work heartily,
as for the Lord rather than for men,
knowing that from the Lord
you will receive the reward of the inheritance.
It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Colossians 3:23-24
