Lessons I’m Learning

Every new experience is a way to learn something new. That is certainly true of this safer-at-home experience. Today I am sharing some of the things I am learning and some of the blessings I am appreciating anew.

  • People certainly do touch their faces a lot without realizing it.
  • My perception of time is ever changing. Twenty seconds feels like a long time when I am washing my hands.
Maybe you can explain it to me. The caption on this photograph, c. 1910-1920, is “The Kitchen Clock.” Courtesy Library of Congress.
  • I really don’t have to do all those things I used to think I had to do.
  • From-scratch cooking tastes really good.
  • Each morsel of food is a gift from God, something to be savored and enjoyed.

  • We are indebted to farmers and warehouse workers and truck drivers and to people working in many occupations.
  • The world has many unsung heroes.
  • People are precious.
  • Face-to-face contact is a dream come true, but online time is a blessing, too.
  • Half a paper towel is often enough.
  • Sunshine is another of God’s kind gifts.
  • Walking and breathing in fresh air are great pleasures worth savoring.
  • God is kind to give us Someone to talk to when the world seems beyond our understanding.
  • Prayer is the most powerful tool in our “toolbox.”

No pressure! You have so much to do (thank you for doing them!), but if you get a chance, I’d love to hear from you about what you are learning and what blessings you are appreciating anew. Again, no pressure!

Rejoice always;
pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

  1. Absolutely everyone is essential. And truth may not happen while we are around to see it but it doesn’t diminish. I hope I see the truth revealed but it doesn’t matter. God values that above man’s “science” “truths” “justices “. Truth stands when all else falls.
