Let’s Get Together!

I looked at my calendar the other day and saw that this coming Wednesday is the seventh anniversary of Daily Encouragement. I want to celebrate. After all this time socially distancing from our loved ones, it’s time for a celebration, don’t you think?

I talked to our team and this is what we came up with for a get-together. Next Wednesday, April 29, at 3:00 p.m. Central, Ray and I would like to invite you to join us for a live question and answer time. I confess that a question and answer time makes me jittery, but you’ll be kind and easy on us, right?

We certainly don’t have all the answers, but we would love to visit with you. You can sign up here.

I might even be able to convince Ray to write one of his great song parodies and perform it with me. He’s a master at it. You should have heard the “Brady Bunch” parody he did the other morning during our Zoom meeting with our team. Our team looks like the Brady Bunch intro every morning, so why not? Ray sang it to me before the team meeting, but he had it written before he even mentioned the idea to me. Ray’s a funny guy and a surprising one.

Hey, if nothing else, maybe I can get him to do “Come Away with Me, Lucille” or the Tootsey Wootsey medley we used to do when our family did “A Walk Through American History in Story and Song” — many moons ago.

Ray is also a wise man. We shared one of his sermons in our Notgrass History email newsletter this week. Ray gave this lesson on March 15. It is the most recent sermon Ray preached in person. These days he is offering online worship times for our congregation. One of our children suggested the idea of sharing her dad’s sermon. I’d like to share it with you, too.

We have a couple of friends who like to hear Ray’s sermons each week, so he records them on his phone. Therefore, keep in mind that this is not a professional recording. Ray had no idea we would be publishing it. In the lesson, he talks about the National Day of Prayer that President Trump asked the nation to participate in on that Sunday. The message is still timely for the situation we are in. If you get a chance to listen to it — I understand that you are very busy mamas — I believe that you will be encouraged. You can listen here.

I pray that God protects you over the weekend. I look forward to sharing some more encouragement with you on Monday. I hope to see you next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, I encourage you to fill your weekend doing what you do so well — being a heroine to those precious children God gave you. You are good at that!

Now to the King eternal,
immortal, invisible,
the only God,
be honor and glory
forever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 1:17
