Little Watching Eyes
Several years ago, Ray was hanging out with our then-three-year-old granddaughter. She was busy “taking pictures” with the sheep piece from a wooden puzzle. When she finished, she took the piece to the puzzle board and said, “I’m going to load it onto my computer for my blog.” One of our friends heard her and asked what her blog was about. “Pictures and people,” she replied.
You can guess who our granddaughter heard talking about pictures and blogs. This conversation reminded me again that our grandchildren are watching and that I need to be sure that my example is one I am willing for them to emulate.
When I was little, I learned the song “Be Careful Little Eyes What You See,” which taught me that my Father up above was “looking down in love” at me. Therefore, I needed to be careful what my little eyes saw, what my little ears heard, what my little hands did, and where my little feet went. Our children and grandchildren are seeing those things, too.
After Paul wrote to Titus about older women and younger women in Titus 2:3-5, he wrote these words for young men, but it certainly applies to us, as well:
. . .  in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds,
with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach . . .
