Looking for What We’ve Been Missing

The cliff on a country road near us looks like this when I view it from the road, . . .

. . . but when I look closely, I find many living treasures. A short walk from that spot yesterday, I saw this pale pink wildflower . . .

. . . and this diminutive cluster of white ones. I’m sorry the picture is not clear. The little plant was so precious that I decided to share my photo anyway.

I always enjoy the wildflowers that bloom in our area in May. Yesterday I saw varieties I don’t remember seeing before. I wondered why. “Am I usually otherwise occupied in early March and therefore I’ve missed these before?” I wondered.

I’m guessing that I miss many other blessings in my preoccupations. Maybe you do, too. Today let’s have eyes that see. Let’s look for the blessings we usually overlook in God’s Creation and in our family members, too.

O taste and see that the Lord is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
