Thank You

Opening email on my phone is one of the first things I do when I get up in the morning. I began the day on Friday humbly grateful for my precious husband’s kind words that he sneaked to put into my post for that day. Thank you, Ray, for being so kind, and thank you, readers, who sent me greetings for my birthday. All of these deeply touched my heart with gratitude and a desire to live up to the precious words you wrote.

I had a really wonderful birthday on Saturday. Among the many, many joys of the day was a mule and wagon ride around the Gainesboro town square with my husband and daughter Mary Evelyn and her family.

The kindnesses I received from friends and family made turning 70 a joy. Later this week, I have scheduled a post that mentions Ecclesiastes 3 where Solomon describes different seasons we experience in our lives. In 70 years, except for the time to kill, I have either experienced each of those seasons personally or I have watched closely as loved ones have experienced them. God has been with me through them all. Now it is time for the year 70 season, and it is a very good season. Thank you, Father God.

I encourage you to take courage and stay faithful to Him. He is faithful always.

There is an appointed time for everything.
And there is a time for every event under heaven—
A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.
A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
A time to be silent and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate;
A time for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
