Yesterday I read this statement by Dr. Ben Carson.

America is not a top-down nation. It’s not the job of our political leaders to transform our communities. They can help, but first and foremost, this is our job as citizens and as people of faith. At the most grassroots level, we must act on our faith to positively affect the lives of others.

You, precious Mama, are transforming communities and our nation every day.

Every time you give a Mama smile . . .

Every time you read aloud . . .

Every time you demonstrate what a loving marriage looks like . . .

Every time you explain or answer why? . . .

Every time you give a Mama hug . . .

Every time you answer yes — or no — with conviction . . .

Every time you stay up late to listen to a teenager . . .

Every time you praise a drawing or a LEGO® castle or a song played on the violin or . . .

Every time you do those hundreds of moment by moment things that fill your days, you transform communities and our nation.

Good job, Mama.

And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
so that you may prove what the will of God is,
that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2
