“Where Never Is Heard . . . .”

As I described recently, the roaming buffalo and also the playing deer and antelope in Custer State Park in South Dakota inspired us to sing “Home on the Range.” When the song popped into my head more recently, one line made me ponder:

Where seldom is heard a discouraging word . . .

Now there’s a home motto to hang over the mantelpiece or by the front door or simply to scrawl on a scrap of paper and hold tight with a magnet on the refrigerator.

Imagine that you could peek inside these homes and witness that motto lived out.

Doesn’t that sound just wonderful?

Therefore encourage one another
and build up one another,
just as you also are doing.
