Window on the World
The people of Quebec create and decorate beautiful windows for both businesses and homes.

Wise mamas and daddies create homes where children both are safe and feel safe. From that warm, comfortable, stable, safe place, they give their children a window on the world.

Parents teach their children about the world beyond.

From their safe place, wise parents prepare their children to be ready to live wisely in that world beyond the window.

Many of the things beyond the window are those true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, reputable, excellent, and praiseworthy things God tells us to think about in Philippians 4:8.

Other things beyond the window are not. The wise author of Proverbs told his son about what he saw beyond his window.
For at the window of my house
I looked out through my lattice,
And I saw among the naive,
And discerned among the youths
A young man lacking sense . . . .
Proverbs 7:6-7

Then, he went on to warn his son about the adulterous temptress he saw through the window. Like other wise parents, Solomon loved his son enough to warn him and prepare him. That is the purpose of the book of Proverbs and one of the most important purposes of parents.
To know wisdom and instruction,
To discern the sayings of understanding,
To receive instruction in wise behavior,
Righteousness, justice and equity;
To give prudence to the naive,
To the youth knowledge and discretion . . . .
Proverbs 1:2-4
