A Saturday Pet Show
Today I’m sharing another Works Progress Administration poster for children. I like the bright cheeriness of this one in one of my favorite color combinations.
Maybe today is a good day for a pet show at your house. Actual pets would be fun, of course. Adults and children alike might have fun making pets spic and span and dressing them up in bows, hats, or costumes. However, live pets aren’t necessary. How about one of these ideas?
- A pet show of drawings of pets, spruced up in their finest–perhaps in some very outlandish fashions.
- A stuffed animal pet show, again with the pets dressed up in their finest.
- A pet show parade with each member of the family acting like a different kind of pet.
- An animal book “pet show” in which each family member marches through the house carrying a read-aloud about animals, followed by cuddling on the couch to read them all.
Your children can even advertise their Saturday Pet Show by drawing the poster above as it is or in their own favorite two-color combinations.
