Our children and grandchildren have been enjoying scenes from the Kennedy Space Center and from space this weekend. Ray and I have, too. As Ray and I watched the launch on Saturday, I was thrilled to hear first one and then another of the announcers say, “Godspeed” to astronauts, Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley.

After the successful launch, one of the announcers spoke excitedly and eloquently about what Americans can do when we work together. Then, when an interviewer asked NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine what he was thinking and feeling when the rocket lifted off, Bridenstine said, “To tell you the truth, I was praying.”

Praise God for the safe and successful launch of a spacecraft carrying American astronauts from American soil. Praise God that those involved were willing to mention the One Who created the earth that the astronauts left and the space where they were headed.

The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.
Psalm 19:1-4
