Ray and I have a friend who has been totally devoted to Jesus Christ for many decades. Every once in a while, he sends out an insightful email. Ray is blessed to be on his list. The one he sent on Saturday was so encouraging that I asked Ray if he could get me permission to share it with you. Here it is with a few edits.

I hope it is catching.

I awoke this morning and was just pondering my world.

Thursday, as usual, John  Sims picked me up.

That is called a friend. We cherish our time and lunch.

As I was instructed, we went south to Warren County [where] we could eat inside.

Of course maintaining the social distancing.

So we left Baker’s Crossroads,

Down the old Kentucky Road,

Through Cassville, then Center Point, on beside Doyle,

Then down to Rock Island.

That is where they make world class Jackson Kayaks.

We had lunch at the Rock Island Restaurant.

It was a delight.

Then we turned back north, going up the old highway

We  passed the massive Savage Lumber Mill —

So many men turning large logs into lumber.

On up and wandered around Sparta.

Finally out through O’Conner and Black Oak to home.

I paid attention closely.

I did not see one riot.

No public property on fire.

No history erased.

I did not even see anyone who looked angry.

I saw Americans going about their business,

Working and farming and taking care of one another.

I really need to and am going to

Watch less network news,

Talk to the Lord more,

Listen to Him and the folks who love me,

And pray whatever is going on where I have been is catching.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute,
if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise,
dwell on these things.
Philippians 4:8

  1. Yes! This is what we need to spread. I love these “reports”. It’s what is really happening.
    God bless and thank you..
    Mrs.O????

  2. This is exactly what we were saying just recently! In the past week we have been through several areas of Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, and you would wonder if everyone had somehow missed the news. No riots, no looting, no racial divisiveness were anywhere evident. We’ve concluded that much of the “news” being reported has been done so by a small group with a large megaphone. Lots of negativity coming across the airwaves…but our response has been to delete a few news apps off our devices and silence those voices for a good while.
