“Pick me! Pick me!” yelled the children while the team captains chose up sides for a game of kickball during recess.

“Pick me! Pick me!” thought the undergraduate waiting to hear back from graduate schools.

“Pick me! Pick me!” thought the father interviewing for a job, six months after his former company moved their operations to China.

When God chose just the right person for the role of being your children’s mama, you didn’t have to yell or send out an application or go for an interview.

Out of all the women in the world — out of all the women in the history of the world — God chose you.

Trust His choice. Rest in your role. He knew what He was doing.

The apostle Paul looked back on his life in full knowledge of the reality that he was far, far from perfect, but still he trusted that God had chosen him for the exact role he was living out every day. God chose you for yours, too, Mama.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord,
who has strengthened me,
because He considered me faithful,
putting me into service.
