Tend My Lambs
Ray and I had two unexpected visitors at our house this week—two orphaned baby lambs. The sad news is that our son-in-law lost two ewes this week. The fun news is that while our daughter and her family came for a visit, the lambs had to be here, too, so that they could be bottle-fed.
At one feeding time, I took a turn.
I enjoyed it very much.
After Jesus’ resurrection, he had a conversation with his disciple Peter. Jesus told him: “Tend My lambs.”
That is exactly what you are doing every day, tending little lambs. Cherish it. Relish it. Hang in there and finish it. It’s worth it.
Now when they had finished breakfast,
Jesus said to Simon Peter,
“Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Tend My lambs.”
