The Tootsie-Wootsie Medley
Ray and I can hardly believe that we’ve been operating the Notgrass Company (now Notgrass History) for 25 years, as of July 1, 2024. Way back when, we and our children used to introduce ourselves to homeschooling groups across Tennessee and some places outside of Tennessee by doing our musical walk-through programs: A Walk Through Tennessee History in Story and Song and A Walk Through American History in Story and Song. Our American history show included a duet by Ray and me that we called the Tootsie-Wootsie Medley, which included verses from love songs that were popular around what we once called “the turn of the century”—the turn of the century from 1900 to 1901, that is.
Ray and I were married 49 years this past December 27.
That’s one of our engagement pictures on the right. Oh, me. That was a long time ago.
Just for fun, Ray and I recorded our 49th Anniversary rendition of the Tootsie-Wootsie Medley in case you need a laugh on this cold January day. Tap the image to go to the video page and watch.
And here are two more hints from an older woman about loving your husband: Keep the romance alive and laugh a lot.
All the days of the afflicted are bad,
But a cheerful heart has a continual feast.
