A New Semester–A Fresh Start
Many of you are probably starting a new semester today. Isn’t God kind to give us opportunities for fresh starts?
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Truly, truly, I say to you,
unless one is born again
he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
John 3:3
Wow, thank You, Father! Born again–that’s what I call a fresh start!
Therefore if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creature;
the old things passed away;
behold, new things have come.
2 Corinthians 5:17
A new creature–Though I need Your grace everyday, I certainly like this creature better than the old one.
. . . put on the new self,
which in the likeness of God
has been created in righteousness
and holiness of the truth.
Ephesians 4:24
A new self–I surely needed a new self.
Therefore, brethren,
since we have confidence
to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way
which He inaugurated for us through the veil,
that is, His flesh,
and since we have a great priest
over the house of God,
let us draw near with a sincere heart
in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled clean
from an evil conscience
and our bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:19-22
A new and living way–what a precious gift that is.
God is kind to give us new things. Celebrate the joy of a new semester and a fresh start. And, by the way, Happy New Year!
