“You Have a Nice Voice.”
Just the other day, a homeschooling mama I know steeped a cup of tea for herself and her four-year-old daughter. When the timer beeped, the mama said in a cheery voice, “Sounds like the tea is ready!”
As she walked over to fill their mugs, her daughter said, “You have a nice voice.”
O clap your hands, all peoples;
Shout to God with the voice of joy.
Psalm 47:1
Whether being called to tea or listening to a math lesson, every mama’s child wants to hear her mama use a cheery, gentle voice of joy.
A gentle answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 15:1
Thank you for this reminder!!!! I need to pray in this department lately. It is hard to have a cheerful and gentle (patient) voice when Momma’s world is full of stress. May God provide the grace needed to succeed in this and portray His Love at all times. I fail miserably, but God’s Mercies are new each morning. Praise God for being perfect unlike me!
This definitely takes constant prayer. Yes, praise God for being perfect, unlike me either.
